Rocky Brown

Rocky Brown, now retired, spent more than 45 years in the construction industry, 17 of those years in which he served as Vice President of Construction for several leading national developers in the Country. Known for providing successful organizational leadership, a reputation for quality, and building highly effective teams, Mr. Brown brings a wealth of experience, deep expertise in management, budgeting, operations and problem solving to the board of TheClusterfix.

Currently Mr. Brown is retired but very active on his rural farm property while contributing to and serving on the Board of the Clusterfix. Mr. Brown's life experiences have been gained in part through his work in the real estate development industry and as outlined below;

Vice President of Construction (17 yrs) and Construction/ Project Manager (20 yrs) for several prominent national developers such as Alliance Residential, Hines, JPI, Lend Lease and Trammel Crow. Mr.Browns roles and responsibilities during this time included managing and training multiple teams of employees in the execution of complex difficult multi million dollar projects (up to 250 mm) in major jurisdictions all over the US, including Phoenix, Denver, Washington DC, Houston and Seattle among other locations. Some of his key responsibilities included management of the hiring process, long term budgeting and planning, profit and loss responsibility, oversight of schedules and quality control, and interfacing with numerous key stakeholders at the highest level to include investor groups as well as municipal officials. 

As a member of the TheClusterfix Board of Directors, Rocky contributes expertise in governance, strategic planning, financial oversight, fundraising, program evaluation, and community partnerships. 

Mr. Brown graduated from Arizona State University in 1996 majoring in Construction Management and is a licensed General Contractor across multiple states, including Virginia, Colorado, Washington, and Arizona. Over the course of his career, he managed the construction of more than 1,500 new military housing units at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and was recognized as Construction Associate of the Year by JPI. His service extends beyond the jobsite: he was awarded Airman of the Quarter at Lowry AFB and has served as a deacon in his church for 15 years.

 

Mr. Brown currently enjoys working on his small farm and playing as much golf as possible. Other interests/ hobbies include, football and sports in general, reading (espionage, mystery and history), target shooting and especially hiking in state and national parks.
